RUDIS RECEIVED AWARD FOR THE BEST EXECUTED PROJECT IN THE FIELD OF ENERGETICS

On 14.6.2017, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Association of contracting engineers, awarded the company Rudis d.o.o. Trbovlje for the best executed project in the field of energetics, namely for construction of the flue gas desulphurization plan of Unit 6 in Thermal power plant Šoštanj. Rudis built the flue gas desulphurization plant (FGD plant) in years 2012 – 2015. FDG plant is a complex technological project that was based entirely at Rudis, elaborating all calculations for the future plant and project documentation during the planning phase on its own. In accordance with tender requirements, the FGD plant was initially designed for the outlet SO2 < 200 mg/Nm3, which is a standard for these kinds of new plants in EU.
Due to stricter requirements of the environmental permit of the Slovenian environment agency, Rudis had to implement special features during the planning phase with which it provided outlet SO2 < 100 mg/Nm3. Today the plant operates with emissions SO2 20-30 mg/Nm3. This is the first such plant in Europe that allows the treatment degree > 99%. It is environmentally friendly and allows operation to the employer even if the legal limits of SO2 are additionally lowered. Head of marketing at Rudis, Mr. Tomaž Jazbec, presented currently the best plant for treating flue gases in Europe.
