Construction of the Flue Gas Desulphurization Plant at 125 MW Unit in the Trbovlje Thermal Power Plant

The Contract for designing of the Flue Gas Desulphurization Plant and its construction on ‘turnkey principle’ was signed in the year 2004. Works on 125 MW Unit were carried out in the year 2005, as with the purpose of enabling untroubled operation of 125 MW Unit first the replacement of draught fans, flue gas duct and by-pass was carried out during overhaul in the year 2005, and then construction of other systems of the Flue Gas Desulphurization Plant followed.

In the year 2006 the first intake of flue gas into the Flue Gas Desulphurization Plant took place and also measurements of guaranteed parameters were made.

Construction on ‘turnkey principle’: designing, supply and assembly of boiler draught fans with electric motors, flue gas ducts with compensators, absorber, blowers for oxidation air, agitators in absorber, limestone powder silo, internal electric power distribution and control system.

Then commissioning, performance tests and trial run followed.
