First start-up of the boiler of 600MW Unit 6 in the Šoštanj TPP
In the Šoštanj TPP on active contracts for construction of Unit 6 we successfully completed the construction, erection and cold tests of the Flue Gas Desulphurization Plant, cooling system, coal transport, and preparation and transport of residues of Unit 6, i.e.: fly ash, slag and gypsum
In August the Employer jointly with the Supplier of the main technological equipment carried out also the first firing of boiler. As an energy source the extra light fuel was used first and then it was followed by the Velenje coal. During the first firing we thus already successfully performed also a part of hot commissioning tests, as all systems, facilities and equipment operated so that normal operation of the main technological equipment was enabled. We will be able to continue optimization of operation of facilities and individual technological units after re-firing and stable operation of the boiler and turbine, presumably in the middle of September 2014.[/levi]
The Employer anticipates the first synchronization with the Slovenian electricity system still in September 2014. In accordance with contractually defined dates the trial run for the cooling system will be implemented in November 2014 and for the remaining contractual Lots in May and in June 2015.
