Flue gas desulphurization plant at 600MW Unit 6 in the Šoštanj TPP operates as one of the best plants in Europe

FGD6 is designed for flue gas flow rate 2,100,000 Nm3/h with 8,200 mg/Nm3 of SO2 content (dry, 6% O2). Permitted value of sulphur oxide amounts to 100 mg/Nm3 and the actual content of SO2 at plant outlet amounts to 20 – 30 mg/Nm3 (dry, 6% O2). At such operation results, this is one of the most technologically advanced plants for flue gas treatment in large thermal power plants in Europe.

Rudis is the technology holder and their improvements that allow more than 99% elimination of SO2 from flue gas for the mentioned facilities were patented at the European Patent Office.
