Rudis presented its technology of flue gas desulphurization at international conference in India

An international conference about air quality control systems in thermal power plants took place in New Delhi on 13 and 14 may 2019

At the conference, marketing manager, Mr. Tomaž Jazbec, presented the technology of highly efficient removal of SO2 from flue gases, which was patented by Rudis at the European Patent Office (EPO) in Munich.

Rudis constructed a flue gas desulphurization plant for 600MW Unit 6 in Thermal power plant Šoštanj, which operates as one of the best plants in Europe. Outlet concentration of SO2 amounts to less than 100 mg/Nm3 (on average 20-30 mg/Nm3), maximum removal efficiency amounts to 99,75%.

Legislation that was adopted in India in December 2017 imposes ecological renovation to thermal power plants that use coal as source of energy.

Thermal power plants with total generating power 161 GW do not meet SOx requirements with their emissions. Power plants had to submit plans for construction of FGD plants and ecological renovation of power plants to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India; in accordance with the valid legislation, ecological renovations will have to be implemented until 2023.
