Rudis with its daughter company LLT Kosova installed the first solar power plant in Kosovo

The current capacity is 102kW and it has been connecting to Kosovo's electricity network from March this year. At Rudis we are planning an investment to increase almost 3x the capacity of the solar plant, for which the preliminary approval of the energy regulatory agency in Kosovo (ERO) has already been obtained.   The Minister for Economic Development, Mr Blerand Stavileci, stressed in his speech that the Kosovo government and the ministry supports the diversification of energy sources in unconventional resources, particularly renewable energy and energy efficiency, with the aim that by 2020, 25% of the total energy are to be produced from renewable sources. The solar power plant will serve as a model to other investors and the ministry will certainly support such initiatives of investors.   Also the General Director of Kosovo Electricity Distribution and Supply Company J.S.C (KEDS JSC), Mr. George Karagutoff, stressed that this first solar power plant in Kosovo contributes to the development of local sources,

which enables greater country’s independence and illustrates the commitment of Kosovo to develop alternative energy sources.   Mr. Enver Halimi, Chairman of the Board of the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO), which fixed feed-in tariff for solar energy, welcomed the Slovenian investment in this project, in which closely participate all institutional actors and Rudis, and announced future investments in the alternative energy sector.   Mr Dejan Baš, Project Director at Rudis, thanked to all who participated and helped at the installation of the first solar power plant, especially KEDS and ERO, which strongly and throughout supported the construction of the project.
