Europe Direct Zasavje organized a roundtable discussion titled Zasavje, solar region of the future on 28.3.2023. Mr. Samo Kreže, director of projects in the company RUDIS and project manager for Rudis' solar power plant Blate participated in the discussion.

Zasavje is an area of three valleys, but it has many sunny areas that can be used to produce electricity. RUDIS used one of such locations - degraded area of former open cast of the Trbovlje mine – Hrastnik nad Hrastnikom (abandoned mining dump) to install solar power plant Blate with rated power 1,5 MW(p).

At the roundtable, mr. Kreže presented the process of the project for construction of solar power plant Blate from the phase of obtaining all required permits, construction to connection to electrical distribution network, as well as Rudis’ plans in the field of renewable energy sources.

RUDIS is already planning construction of a new solar plant in the area of Unično, Hrastnik, which in the first phase allows construction of power plant with rated power 0,7 MW and later expansion to 1,5 MW.

We are developing a project of retrofitting battery storage for solar power plant Blate that would allow to sell electricity on the market more flexibly. RUDIS is building its first wind power plant called VE Alibunar 1 with rated power 9 MW in the Banat region in Serbia. Besides investing in our own capacities of producing “green” energy, RUDIS also installs solar power plants for a known client.

Project manager of Solar power plant Prapretno and the president of the Energy cooperative Zeleni Hrastnik that will install the largest community solar power plant in Slovenia also participated in the roundtable discussion.
